Dr. Erik Magnusson is a fellowship-trained orthopaedic surgeon who specializes in fracture care and foot and ankle conditions. He treats patients of all ages.
Dr. Magnusson is actively engaged in orthopaedic research. He has published in the fields of hand, spine, and trauma surgery, and several of his research projects have been presented at local and international meetings.

Background
Dr. Magnusson received his BA in Biology from Loyola College of Maryland. He returned home to Minnesota to attend the University of Minnesota Medical School, where he graduated Alpha Omega Alpha (highest honors). He completed orthopaedic surgery residency at the University of Washington and remained in Seattle to complete dual fellowships in orthopaedic trauma and foot and ankle surgery. Through his fellowship training he gained expertise in the treatment of complex fractures and a full spectrum of foot and ankle conditions, including total ankle arthroplasty.
Above all, Dr. Magnusson finds great joy and satisfaction in helping his patients return to their activities following trauma or degenerative disease. He enjoys helping his patients understand their conditions and working with them to craft individualized treatment plans to meet their goals. He strives to find the right combination of non-operative strategies and operative interventions to improve each person’s pain and function.
Dr. Magnusson and his wife, Carly, are originally from Minnesota but have fallen in love with Washington’s natural beauty. They enjoy exploring Seattle’s art, dining, and music scene together. He is eager to learn to fly fish as another avenue to explore the Pacific Northwest.

In order to complete any outstanding paperwork and/or process any required changes to your patient information, we ask that you come to our office at least 20 minutes prior to your scheduled visit time.
Please bring the following items to your appointment:
- Photo ID
- A list of your current medications
- Any and all x-rays, MRIs and medical reports available
- Insurance information and card
- Referral or primary care authorization, if your insurance carrier requires it (please check with your carrier)
- Information about what treatments and medications have been tried in the past
- Medical records from prior visits that you think may be helpful
- New patients: please download a patient registration form and bring a completed copy with you for your visit.
